Library Cards

To get the most out the library, apply for a free library card!  If you have never had a library card you may  submit an application at the circulation desk or apply online.

If you have  had a library card in the past but need a replacement card, you may do so for a $1.00 fee.

Reference Assistance

Our staff is happy to assist you with your reference needs. Whether you’re looking for research assistance, genealogy resources, or just need an answer to a question, we’re here to help!

Feel free to visit us at the library or Contact Us us by phone or e-mail. We will make every effort to answer your question or refer you to a source or agency who may be able to help.

Computer and Internet Access

The library features a public computer lab on the downstairs floor of the building, adjacent to the Children’s section. Free wireless internet access passes also available at the front desk for patrons who wish to use their own devices. Anyone who utilized library computers or wireless internet access will be subject to the Princeton Public Library Electronic Resource Policy.

Library card holders may log on to a public computer using their card number and phone number. Patrons without a library card may obtain a guest pass by seeing the computer lab attendant. All public computer sessions last 1 hour by default. Users who are working on homework, research, or job applications may request additional time from the computer lab attendant. The computer lab closes 15 minutes before the end of business hours each day.

Copies, Printing, Faxes, etc.

The library provides copy/printing, faxing, and other services for a fee. See the chart below for more information.

eBooks (WV-READS)

All Princeton Library cardholders are enrolled to access thousands of eBooks and digital audio books through OverDrive and WV-READS, a multi-library electronic materials consortium. Simple visit WV-READS, select us as your home library, and log in with your library card number and phone number to start browsing.

The process for selecting and downloading materials varies based on your device. We recommend visiting the OverDrive Help page for instructions on getting started.

If you need extra help, feel free to contact the library for assistance. We’ll be happy to walk you through the process over the phone or schedule a time for one-on-one assistance with a library staff member.

Kits-to-Go

The Library offers various sporting and hobby kits for checkout.

These include: Soccer, Bocce Ball, Kickball, Disc Golf, Tennis, Pickelball, Chess, Knitting, and Crochet

Online Databases  

Princeton Library cardholders have access to a variety of useful online tools and databases through the West Virginia Library Commission. To view a full list of these databases and information about how to access them, please visit the eResources page.

Inter-library Loan (ILL)

At times, you may wish to find an item that the library does not have and declines to purchase for inclusion in the collection. When you make a book request (via our online catalog or directly to a staff member) you may opt to have us request the materials from another West Virginia library for free. Please note, we cannot guarantee that all ILL requests can be fulfilled.

Programs and Events

The Library offers host a variety of free programs and events for all ages.  These are listed on our Calendar of Events, can be viewed on our FaceBook page, or a physical calendar may be picked up at the library.

Programs include story times, crafts and arts, and book clubs.

We welcome suggestions from the community in order to enhance our program selection as well as to provide a wide selection of activities.

Meeting Rooms

The library features two public meeting rooms to accommodate meetings and gatherings. For more information on meeting rooms, rental fees, and to download a rental application, please visit the Meeting Room page.

Escape Room

For small team meetings or celebrations, you may call and schedule to do the escape room, “Trouble in the Hogwarts Library.” A fee of $20 is charged to do the after hours escape room with meeting room usage an additional cost. Please call the library for more details and to schedule your event.
